2008

I went to my masseur. I hadn't been in a while, over a year or so for lack of time.

While he massaged my stomach I felt kind of queezy, sad too.

He said, "you shouldn't eat up your emotions."

I said, "not to worry, they find their way out. If not in person, definitely on paper."

But it was only on heading home that I realized he may actually have meant what he said literally. I had, after all, been on a unhealthy diet of sandwiches with butter and cheese, chocolate, and strong coffee these past few days. And I have to admit: my belly is past its prime.
